Mythos

The Sims in this story worship the Goddess, or otherwise known as She Who Guides. This Goddess is of course ME. But as there are many vesions of the truth of the Divine in our world, so too is there many in sim-univers Viridis is located in. That is not to mention the many other myth, legends, fables, fairy tales, folk tales and downright old wives tales that imbue this world. Things that may come up in this story over the course of time may include;

  • The pagan religion worshipping the Llama and the Evil Cow (Gods of Order and Choas), and by extension the secret cult that is rumoured to give Sim sacifices to a cow-plant in exchange for longer life.
  • The pagan goddess of the north called The Grey Lady, who was later turned into the patron saint of children St Lady Grey by the Holy Simolic Church. Myth has it this Lady was burned to death in a fire, and that she now guards all children against this horrid fate.
  • Social Bunnies: In fairy tales they are said to reveal themselves to those that are exceedingly lonely and in sore need of company, but of course that is only in stories. Everyone knows there is no such thing as Social Bunnies.
  • The Therapist: In other fairy tales a kindly elderly gentleman reveals himself to those who have hit rock bottom and brings them out of the depths of their despair. This mythological figure is commonly reported by those with a history of mental issues so one shouldn't take any credence from such reports.
  • The Leader of the Pack: wolves are common all over the known world, and it was no surprise when they were also found on Viridis. Legend has it that there is a wolf that runs with these packs that is no wolf at all. And that if you unerringly befriend this mysterius beast he will give you savage bite and infect you with a cursed disease that will turn you into a wolf-like beast when the moon is high. Well at least so they say in all the folk tales.
  • Plant Sims: an old wives tale will have you believe that using the pesticidal spray on your crops will eventually lead you to be transformed into a creature that is both plant and sim. Yeah, we think that one is ridiculous too.
  • The fabled Plumb-bob that is said to hover over those the Goddess guides, and to shine with colour depending on how well a Sim is feeling. This has led to such sayings as "By the Plumb-bob", "May the Plumb-bob be over you" "May the Plumbbob shine brightly over you" or even the curse "May the Plumb-bob burn like coals over you". The Plumb-bob is also a symbol is used by the the Holy Simolic Church.
  • Will Wright: the original designer and architect of the world/s of the Sim. The Simlamic religion that dominates the South hold that he is the One True God and that only he is deserving of their prayers. This so-called Goddess the northerners worship is nothing more than an agent of Will Wright's Will, or so they believe.
  • The Multiverse: the idea that there are many Universes that exist, and even more scandalously that they may be guided by different Goddesses or Gods than our own. This is of course is considered Heresy and has been a cause of several Inquisitions throughout history.
